I said I was going to make 2009 the year of reconnecting with friends, family, and co-workers. Facebook has been a big help to that end. When Donna and I got back from our vacation, I found a Swiss Army knife on my desk. At first I thought it was a gift, but upon closer inspection I saw the inscription “G. Steiner”. “Greg hasn’t been to our house in at least 13 years” I thought.
Thanks to Facebook, I reached out to Greg. He thought the knife was long gone. I explained that I have no idea where it was hiding or who found it, but I’d be happy to return it to him. It made for a good excuse to get together face-to-face and catch up on family, friends, careers, etc.
Just one success story in how I intend to continue reaching out and staying connected this year.
